The project aims to avoid the loss of production in conventional or tropical wind turbines caused by the formation of ice sheets on the blades. To date there is no a economically viable solution to this problem.

In order to carry out the project, the existing knowledge about the phenomenon of ice formation on the blades will have to be researched. This is influenced by both the meteorological and the operational aspects of the wind turbine.
