CDTI is providing more than 219 million euros to 106 business R&D&I projects Thursday March 30th, 2017

48 strategical projects will be approved and financed with 194,56 million euros from CDTI.
CDTI’s Administration Board, an organism depending on the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, has approved 106 new R&D&I projects with a total budget of 263,61 million euros. CDTI will provide 2019,49 million euros for boosting business R&D&I.
101 companies will take part in the development of these projects, being SMEs a 68,3% of those companies and belonging 46,4%, of those SMEs, to the mid and high technology sector. From the total of companies implied, 37, this is to say, a 37%, will receive, for the first time ever, CDTI financing.
The Technological Industrial Development Centre (CDTI) forecasts that the sum of these initiatives will employ 494 workers directly and 2.389 professionals indirectly. In total, 2.883 people will be employed.

48 strategic R&D projects approved

The last Board meeting has resulted in the approval of 48 strategic R&D projects with a total amount of 229,02 million euros which CDTI will provide a contribution of 194.56 million euros to.
This process has the target of developing important R&D projects, up to 6 years long, for creating and improving significantly manufacturing processes, products or services in different technological areas, which are relevant for its strategy and business projection.
Approved projects will be co-financed with a partially refundable aid, covering an 85% of the total approved budget, and a partial non-refundable aid (TNR) of 7,5% for SMES and 5% for large companies, calculated over a 75% contribution.
Financing will be provided by the FEDER funds (FEDER R&D&I Operative Program for Technological companies benefit 2007-2013) within the Financial instrument “ICO Technological Background innovation” framework.
These financial aids will be assigned to projects developed in Andalucía, Asturias, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura, Galicia, Murcia, Ceuta and Melilla.

FEDER FUNDS COFINANCED PROJECTS 2014-2020

In this Board meeting, CDTI has also approved 25 R&D operations being financed with the round of FEDER funds 2014-2020 – Operative multi-regional Intelligent Growth Program -, whose public contribution (CDTI+FEDER) reaches 8,44 million euros.
The Operative Multi-Regional Intelligent Growth Program allows CDTI to offer a partial non-refundable aid of 30% to every project being co-financed with this program, independently of the size of the beneficiary.
