El objetivo del proyecto es el desarrollo de una herramienta específica que permita la optimización del consumo energético que se produce en los sistemas de alumbrado público. Esta herramienta, una vez desarrollada, se ofrecerá a los diferentes ayuntamientos de La Rioja. Dentro de los ayuntamientos el consumo energético debido al alumbrado público puede llegar hasta el 60% del coste energético total. Se considera por tanto que una herramienta que permita reducir estos costes de forma significativa resultará muy atractiva para ellos.

The objective of the project is the development of a specific tool that allows the optimization of the energy consumption produced in public lighting systems. This tool, once developed, will be offered to the different town councils of La Rioja. Within the municipalities, energy consumption due to public lighting can reach up to 60% of the total energy cost. It is therefore considered that a tool that allows these costs to be reduced in a significant way will be very attractive for the municipalities.[:]
